Mingus Mountain Campground is located about 1 hour from either Prescott or Camp Verde and can be reached by paved road except the last 3 miles which is a dirt road. The campground is located overlooking Verde Valley and on clear days, the nearby scenic overlook offers outstanding views. Summer temperatures are drastically lower then nearby Prescott and Cottonwood. Make sure you pack it in and pack it out, Mingus Mountain does not have a trash collection area.

There are no facilities for showers, RV hookups, waste disposal or water.

Hiking is available nearby with access to North Mingus Trail #105, View Point Trail #106, Coleman Trail #108, and Gaddes Trail #110

Directions

From Prescott take hwy 89 north to hwy 89A. Take HWY 89A 19 miles to FR 104 at the summit. Take FR 104 east approx. 3 miles to the campground. FR 104 is dirt but can accomodate all vehicles when dry.

From Camp Verde take hwy 260 Northwest for 20 miles to Junction 89A. Take hwy 89A 14 miles through the historic town of Jerome (where you will find a couple of old west saloons and a haunted hotel) to FR 104. Take FR 104 3 miles to the campground.
