Wheatsfield Lake Campground, although in relatively poor condition, offers excellent trout fishing. The campground is located between mile marker 64 and 65 on Indian Route N12 approx. 10 miles south of the town of Tsaile. Be self contained and bring your own water. The road is paved but is difficult in poor weather, especially in the winter months.

Nearby is the famed Canyon de Chelly National Monument. If you plan on camping, boating or fishing, Navajo permits are required, and can be purchased at the store on the lake. Fishing and camping supplies can also be purchased at the store.

Directions

From the town of Tsaile head south 10 miles on Indian Route 12 to the campground entrance.

From Window Rock head north 44 miles on Indian Route 12 to the campground entrance.
