South Fork Campground

South Fork Day Use Area is small and tucked into a small canyon carved out by the South Fork of the Little Colorado River. There are 12 sites at South Fork all within a few feet of the river. Fishing the South Fork you will catch rainbow, brown brook and apache trout. The day use area is in close proximity to the X Diamond Ranch, which owns a two mile stretch of the Little Colorado and stocks it regularly. It is not uncommon to catch a fish over 20 inches at the X Diamond Ranch. Fishermen can ply the waters for either a half day or full day of fishing and you can be guaranteed not to have more than 5 anglers per day on the water.

The day use area is open all year, weather permitting, and the roads are suitable for all vehicles. The roads are not plowed during the winter months.

Directions

From Eagar travel west on the U.S. Highway 260 4.5 miles to Forest Road 560 (South Fork Road). Follow this road for 2.5 miles to the stop sign and follow the campground signs another 0.5 miles to the campground.
