Alderwood Campground is dispersed and you must be self contained. Located next to the Hellsgate Wilderness, Alderwood is noted for its rainbow trout fishing and its proximity to trails for horseback riding. Haigler Creek flows next to the campground and is stocked with rainbow trout from April through late August. Haigler creek offers a nice respite to the warm summer temperatures during the summer months. Solitude is something you can definitely appreciate here. Also, the campground is well shaded. After heavy rain, a four wheel drive vehicle isn’t a must but is nice.
Local wildlife includes black bear, Javelina, Mountain Lion and deer.
