Sinkhole
Campground sits back about a mile from the 150
acre Willow Springs Lake. 13 campsites are first come,
first served and there are 13 campsites available for advanced reservation. The campground is surrounded
by ponderosa pines and local wildlife can sometimes be seen.
Hiking and Mountain biking trails are located nearby the
campground and the General Crook Trail, which runs along
the Mogollon Rim is about a mile away. In Spring and fall,
expect cold nighttime temperatures.
Rainbow
trout and the occasional largemouth bass are caught in Willow
Springs Lake. There is a boat ramp for your convienience
and there is an 8 h.p. limit to your motor. Willow Springs
is easily fished from the shore and often you will need
to walk a way along the shore to find a quiet area to fish
alone.
The
Rim Visitors Information Center is located at the junction of
the S. R. 260 and Rim Road.
Showers
are located at Canyon Point
Campground 5 miles east of the visitors center on S.
R. 260. The charge for using the showers is $3.00.

Directions
From Payson travel east on S.R. 260 until you reach the top of
the Mogollon Rim and pass the visitor center by about 3/4 of a
mile and turn left into the Willow Springs Recreation Area. the
campground is on the left.
