There is not a lot to say about this 7 site campground located on Chevelon Creek. The beauty alone will bring you here and the fishing isn't bad either. There is no water here so make sure to bring plenty, it's a long, long way back to the store in Forest Lakes. Chevelon Crossing Campground is open year round. You have to be careful after a good rain, because the roads can get a little slippery. This is a Pack It In, Pack It Out campground. There is no garbage service here. On the trip in keep an eye out for the local wildlife.

The Rim Visitors Information Center is located at the junction of the S. R. 260 and Rim Road.

Directions

From Payson travel east on S.R. 260 to the top of the Mogollon Rim. Turn left on F.R. 300 (it's directly across from the Rim Visitor Center) and go past the Woods Canyon Recreation Area to F.R. 169. Follow F.R. 169 to F.R. 504 and turn right into the campground.
