Lower
Log Road Campground is located on the Fort Apache
Indian Reservation. A nice dirt road (depending on which
route you take) leads you towards the North Fork of the
White River. Remember to get your camping and fishing
permits at Hon-Dah before you head in. Permits are required
on the Fort Apache Reservation.
Fishing
for rainbow trout here is o.k. but not fantastic. The river flows
relatively slow and luck plays an important role in catching fish.
There
are many campgrounds along the North Fork of the White River.
For those who like rough roads, follow the North Fork all
the way to McCoy
Bridge where there is good fishing also.
Directions
From
Hon-Dah, take S.R. 73 south for 3 miles then turn left onto
the well marked road and drive 2.5 miles towards the campground.
